Three qualities we must have to succeed in the gym

Determination

“There is no tailwind for a ship without a direction,” or in other words, you need to have a goal. You must know why you are in the gym, and why do you want to start that exhausting workout. I want to gain muscle mass – how many pounds/kgs? I want to lose weight – How much? I want to improve my bench press record – with how many kilograms? Whatever your goal is, remember, and follow it. Be specific in the figures as well, but remember – set realistic goals or risk failure. Moderation is the key to success. Your goal is your direction, and it makes you get up and start the workout! Don’t let it slip off your mind, and don’t lose sight of it – Never! At least until you achieve it – This is called Purposefulness or determination.

Discipline

The definition of discipline is to do what you have to do when you have to. In our case – Follow the Plan! Don’t have a plan ?! Well, there will be no better time to do it – the chances to fail along your journey without a plan are much higher. If you have read our previous article, you should remember – “Not having a plan is a sure key to failure.” Or if we go back to the first quality, you set a goal, and then a plan is made to achieve it – a workout program, diet plan, don’t forget the rest days, and everything else that you need to do. Patience

Here, nine out of ten athletes fail. This is of the most important qualities! Not only in the field of diet planning and exercising. Everything is happening slowly and is following the laws of nature (we are not talking about anabolic-androgenic steroids and the sort); there are no shortcuts and magic potions. Everything takes time, and here, patience will save you from hasty conclusions and wrong choices. Most people want fast results and change programs every month – this is not the case. To see a workout program’s real effect, you need at least 3-4 months, with a proper diet plan! Well, that requires patience

In conclusion

These qualities are valid for all spheres of life. Try to improve them, step by step, but regularly. Do not give up, and you will achieve success not only with your fitness and well-being goals but also in other areas of life.
